The launch, delivered through Light & Wonder’s OpenGaming platform, marks Playnetic’s first placement with a state-owned Swedish operator — less than a month after the aggregator partnership went live.
Playnetic has gone live with AB Svenska Spel’s commercial gaming arm, Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, bringing a selection of its titles to Swedish players for the first time through one of the market’s most prominent licensed operators.
Sweden’s regulated market
Sweden’s re-regulated iGaming market, which has operated under the supervision of Spelinspektionen (the Swedish Gambling Authority) since January 2019, remains one of Northern Europe’s most tightly governed online gambling environments.
For B2B studios building a regulated-market footprint, securing shelf space with Svenska Spel Sport & Casino — the commercial gaming division of the state-owned AB Svenska Spel — carries particular weight given the operator’s central position in Sweden’s licensed landscape.
Opening titles and platform delivery
Four titles are live in the initial rollout: 7 Djinn Wishes, Sun vs Moon: Hold n’ Win, Assassin of Rome, and Farmageddon. The selection spans a range of themes and mechanics, including entries from Playnetic’s Hold n’ Win series.
The rollout is delivered through Light & Wonder’s OpenGaming aggregation platform, which went live with Playnetic’s content on 18 August 2026. The Svenska Spel Sport & Casino launch is among the first operator-level deployments to follow that integration. Light & Wonder — formerly Scientific Games, which rebranded in 2022 — operates OpenGaming across more than 100 regulated jurisdictions globally.
Playnetic’s position in the Swedish market
Playnetic — a B2B iGaming content provider founded in 2023 and publicly launched at ICE London in February 2024 — received its Spelinspektionen licence in May 2024, clearing it to supply content to operators in Sweden’s regulated market. The studio operates three in-house game studios and also holds licences in Romania, Malta, Greece, and Ontario.
Svenska Spel Sport & Casino is the commercial online gaming division of AB Svenska Spel, the state-owned operator founded in 1997. The division was created following Sweden’s gambling market reform under the Gambling Act (2018:1138), which re-regulated the market with effect from 1 January 2019 and is administered by Spelinspektionen. All surpluses from AB Svenska Spel’s operations are returned directly to the Swedish state treasury.
What the executives said
Adam Olsson, Content Manager, Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, commented:
‘Playnetic has built a diverse portfolio that offers something different across a range of player preferences. We’re pleased to introduce these titles to our players and look forward to seeing how they perform as part of our wider content offering.’
Kai Botha, Chief Commercial Officer at Playnetic, added that the studio is proud of the variety across its portfolio and sees the Svenska Spel Sport & Casino launch as a strong opportunity to bring its content to a new audience.
The Svenska Spel Sport & Casino deal follows a series of distribution agreements for the studio. Playnetic has previously gone live through Relax Gaming’s Powered By Relax programme, QTech Games, Hub88, Stake, and White Hat Gaming.
